At Inspire, our supported accommodation is designed to meet your unique needs and enhance your independence and confidence.
Supported Accommodation
Our supported accommodation provides living environments designed or adapted to accommodate the specific requirements of NDIS participants. We aim to enable participants to maintain their health and well-being while fostering a sense of independence, promoting a higher quality of life and integration into the community.
NDIS Short Term Accommodation (STA)
Our short term accommodation include overnight stays and can range from a few days to a few weeks, offering a safe and supportive environment for participants to live temporarily while still receiving the necessary care and support services. It’s tailored to ensure that participants’ daily needs are met, allowing them the opportunity to meet new people, participate in community activities, and sometimes learn new skills in a different setting.
NDIS Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)
Medium term accommodation typically spans a three to six months according to the ndis, depending on individual circumstances. It serves as a bridge for participants searching for Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA) during this transition period, ensuring they have a safe, accessible, and comfortable place to live. It is particularly beneficial for participants who need an interim place to stay that meets their disability-related needs, providing continuity of care and support in a stable environment while they wait for their permanent housing to become available.
NDIS Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Our supported independent living service provides significant daily living assistance to participants with higher support needs, enabling them to live independently. It includes help with personal care, household tasks, medication management, and skill development for community participation. It is tailored to each individual’s requirements, fostering autonomy and well-being in a shared or individual living arrangement. Learn more on the NDIS website here.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Our Specialist Disability Accommodation is designed for people with extreme functional impairments or very high support needs. Our SDA properties are specially adapted to enhance accessibility and safety, catering to the complex needs of eligible participants to improve their independence and quality of life.
Frequently asked questions
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government initiative in Australia designed to support individuals with disabilities. It provides funding for necessary supports and services to help improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families.
To determine if you’re eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you must meet certain criteria. This includes having a permanent disability that significantly impacts your ability to participate effectively in everyday activities, or a condition that is likely to be permanent and requires support. Additionally, you must be under 65 years of age and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa. The NDIS has specific guidelines for eligibility, and it’s advisable to contact the NDIS directly or visit their website for more detailed information and to assess your eligibility.
To access the NDIS, check if you meet eligibility criteria, then contact the NDIA for an Access Request Form. Once submitted and reviewed, if eligible, you’ll work with NDIA to develop a personalized plan.
Manage your NDIS funding through self-management, plan management, or NDIA management. Self-management offers full control over your budget and services, plan management provides help with finances, and NDIA management simplifies processes by handling payments. Choose based on your need for control and support, and ensure regular spending reviews to stay on track.
Support available through the NDIS varies depending on individual needs but may include funding for things like personal care, therapy, equipment, and community activities. It’s personalised to each participant’s requirements and goals.
For more information about the NDIS, you can visit the official NDIS website or contact the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) directly through their helpline. Additionally, you can reach out to local disability service providers or organisations in your area for assistance and guidance.
